Adopt a Horse

Become a Galapagos Horse Friend!

You can personally adopt a rescued horse on our farm from anywhere in the world. As a sponsor, you help our horses live happy, healthy lives, despite their traumatic pasts.  Every contribution helps whether you adopt a specific horse or send a gift to help support our entire farm!

Due to COVID-19; tourism has been completely shut down on the Galapagos since March 2020. Claudia has not had any work as a tour guide or translator, and so Galapagos Horse Friends is completely dependent on donations until tourism opens up again (hopefully before the end of 2021, but we don’t know for sure yet).

Only freedom creates trust.
By making a difference for animals,
we are making a difference for ourselves.

How does it work?

Choose a horse and start your special friendship! You are also welcome to give a general donation for the entire farm if you would like rather than focusing on one horse; it’s your choice. We welcome any help that you wish to provide. We are in the process of implementing recurring monthly donations and should have those available in April of 2021.

Our horses get the best of care possible including balanced diets, plenty of room to run and play, fresh water, loving attention and the best veterinary care we can offer. We rely on donations and receive no government funding for the care of these horses as they are an introduced species to our islands.

How much does it cost?

Donations can be set amounts of $10 up to $1000, or an open amount that you chose. When we have monthly recurring donations available, it will be in increments of $10 a month from $10 to $100 a month (or more if you would like, email us and we can work something out!) Your donation will go directly towards the care of your horse friend.

What will you receive?

When you adopt a horse  you will receive: A printable certificate of donation; acknowledgement of your donation on our website; email updates on your adopted horse, including current photos, several times a year; and the personal fulfillment of helping to care for  these beautiful animals who give so much love, care and healing in return.
